SDIMI 2013 Venue

The Conference venue was at the “Milos Conference Center – George Eliopoulos” in Milos island, Greece.

The island of Milos, an entirely volcanic island is located 86 nautical miles from the port of Piraeus, in the south – western part of the Cyclades group of islands, in the Aegean Sea. It is well known for the largest natural harbour in the Mediterranean, its mineral wealth, as well as for its unique beaches of white sand and crystal clear waters.

Milos is also famous for the marble statue known as the Venus de Milo, a statue of exceptional beauty, which was found, buried in the island in 1820 and which is now in the Louvre in Paris. Milos has enjoyed a long and interesting mining history that dates to Neolithic times, and continues as an important mining centre today. Its civilization is considered to be as ancient as that of Crete.
